High Purity Bellows Sealed Valve

Bellows sealed valves are assembled in a Class 10 cleanroom, and passivation is done in a nitrogen environment. Ultrasonic cleaning is performed after passivation to ensure purity. Valves are also 100% helium leak tested. Packaged in purified, anti-static polyethylene bags that are pressurized into the high purity nitrogen gas protects valves during shipping and storage. Hy-Lok USA, Inc. bellows valves offer a precision-formed metal welded bellows assembly that has undergone electropolishing processing for maximum cycle life.

Bellow Valve Construction

  • Hy-Lok bellows valves are easily paneled mountable and have handle options such as round, toggle, and pneumatic actuation.
  • The ball-bearing application between the upper and lower stem provides smooth operation, and the bonnet seals to the body without a gasket.
  • Precision-formed metal bellows and nonrotating stem tips feature excellent corrosion resistance and long cycle life. The valve body is constructed from a single vacuum melt 316L stainless steel and has variable end connections.
  • Sizes include 1/4″, 3/8″, and 1/2″ with end connection options that include Hy-Lok tube fittings, male/female ZCR fittings, and tube butt welds.
  • These bellow valves offer an operating temperature rating of -20°F to approximately 200°F and a maximum working pressure of up to 250 psig (17.3 bar).

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a bellows seal valve used for?
A bellows seal valve is used to prevent leakage along the valve stem, making it ideal for high purity, hazardous gas, and corrosive fluid applications where containment is critical.

Why choose Hy-Lok bellows sealed valves?
Hy-Lok bellows sealed valves are designed with precision-welded metal bellows, helium leak testing, and cleanroom assembly, ensuring superior reliability, safety, and long-term performance in demanding systems.

What industries use bellows seal valves?
Bellows seal valves are widely used in semiconductor manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, chemical processing, and specialty gas systems where purity and leak prevention are essential.

What materials are used in bellows sealed valves?
Most bellows sealed valves, including Hy-Lok models, are constructed from 316L stainless steel with electropolished bellows to provide corrosion resistance and extended service life.

What makes bellows seal valves different from standard valves?
Unlike standard valves that rely on packing seals, bellows seal valves use a welded metal bellows to eliminate stem leakage, providing a higher level of safety and environmental protection.
