Hy-Lok USA, Inc. carries a full line of alternative fuel fittings and components that are designed to be compatible with compressed natural gas (CNG), liquid natural gas (LNG), and hydrogen fuel cell technology.
Our 316 stainless steel tube fittings, ball valves, check valves, relief valves, filters, tee filters, and purge valves are used in multi-tank system, engine, fill station, hydrogen fuel cell, and natural gas vehicle applications.
Our fittings are ANSI NGV1, ECE R, and CSA certified to work in pressures up to 6,000 psig. We carry ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OSHAS 18001, API, and PVD quality and safety certifications and all valves pass API 607 and BS 6755 fire safety standards.
Conversion Process
The conversion of biomasses into biofuels in either liquid or gaseous forms can be quite complex. The biochemical conversion process involves enzymes and microorganisms used as biocatalysts in converting biomass compounds into biofuel products. The processes of hydrolysis and fermentation are key factors, with biotechnology helping to improve the final products.
In thermochemical conversion, heat energy and chemical catalysts are used to deconstruct biomass into intermediate chemical forms. One main process is gasification, which is the heating of biomass in an oxygen-starved environment resulting in the production of gas made mainly of hydrogen and carbon monoxide.
Another important process is pyrolysis, in which biomasses are exposed in a vacuum to decompose, and recomposed through the use of solvents, acids, and bases to form a range of products.
