Bleed and Purge Valves

Hy-Lok purge valves are designed to manually bleed, vent or drain.

Hy-Lok USA, Inc. bleed valves can be used on instrument fluid handling products, such as manifolds or gauge/root valves, in order to vent signal line pressure to the atmosphere before disassembling of an instrument or to facilitate in the calibration of control devices. End connection options include male NPT and SAE from 1/8″ to 1/2″.

Bleed valves are available in stainless steel, carbon steel, and alloy 400. The knurled cap is not separable from the valve body for safety. A simple quarter (1/4) turn from finger tight gives leak-free closure. Proper tightening with a wrench secures closure to the desired pressure rate with sufficient make-ups. Purge valves are available in stainless steel, carbon steel, brass. Both bleed and purge valves are tested with nitrogen at 1000 psi(69 bar) to a max leak rate of 0.1 SCCM. For more details, view our full catalog on Bleed & Purge Valves.

Bleed Valve Applications

Hy-Lok bleed valves can be used on instrumental fluid handling apparatus such as manifolds or gage/root valves in order to vent signal line pressure to atmosphere before dissassemble of an instrument, or to facilitate in calibration of control devices.

Purge Valve Features

  • Pressure rating up to 4,000 psig (275 bar) for 316 stainless steel and up to 3,000 psig (206 bar) for carbon steel and brass at 100°F (38°C).
  • Temperature rating from -65°F to 600°F (-54°C to 315°C) with stainless steel, from -65°F to 400°F (-54°C to 204°C) with carbon steel, from -20°F to 350°F (-29°C to 177°C) with brass.
  • Vent hole bleeds exessive liquid or gas from system lines.
  • Knurled cap is crimped to valve body to prevent accidental remove from body
  • Size range from 1/8" thru 1/2" tubing and piping system.
  • Variety of end connections including Hy-Lok tube fittings, male/female NPT and ISO, SAE threads.

Purge Valve Applications

Hy-Lok purge valves are for manual bleed, vent, or drain purposes. The knurled cap is not separate from the valve body for safety purposes. 1/4 turns of wrench pull-up from finger tight gives leak-free closure on first make-up. Proper tightening with a wrench secures closer to the desired pressure rate with sufficient make-ups.
